A Survey of Biblical Context Throughout the Centuries

One remarkable characteristic of scripture is that it was written by 40 some different authors across roughly 1500 years of human history. This presents a challenge to the modern reader who needs to understand the changing historical and cultural contexts that different parts of scripture were composed within. Utilizing archaeological and historical materials this Next Steps class will survey the important cultural and historical periods that correspond with different sections of the Bible. The goal will be to deepen our reading of scripture by better understanding this context.
