Possible Short Term Mission Trip with Kenya Hope

What: Immanuel church is looking to partner with one of our Strategic Global Partners, Kenya Hope, in the construction and equipping of a private school near Narok, Kenya. 
We are hoping to put together a work ministry team to assist with the beginning construction of this project.  

Who: You must a high school graduate. A regular attendee, of Immanuel Church. Have a desire to serve Jesus Christ, and be willing to submit to the guidance of the trip leaders.  You must be in good health, be able to acclimate to the mile high elevation in Kenya, and be able to manage (2) suitcases; one with Kenya Hope supplies and one with your own. 
The majority of the time will be in a rustic camp setting with tents / cots, outhouses, field kitchen, etc. There may or may not be electricity or cell phone service (plan on not). Medical facilities can be several hours away. 
You must have a good work ethic, preferably with some building trades experience or skills, or a medical background as there are often physical needs that go unattended. There may also be an opportunity for some to help with a VBS being planned and led by a congregation from PA.
You must have a valid passport with at least (6) months remaining before expiration and be able to acquire a Kenya visa online.

When: 02/01/24 – 02/16/24; these dates are flexible but must be set soon to allow time for airline ticket purchases and planning on the Kenya side.

Cost: approximately $2,700 per person. Includes travel insurance, international airfare and in country transportation, food, lodging and activities.
